It’s the brainchild of Jenna Lyons, the fashion icon who changed the way we dress during her tenure as executive creative director and president at J.Crew before joining the cast of The Real Housewives of New York in 2023. Lyons lives with a genetic disorder called incontinentia pigmenti, which has impacted her skin, hair, teeth and eyelashes. Unable to find fake lashes that gave an authentic look she wanted to present day-to-day, Lyons decided to take matters into her own very capable hands.
To rethink how synthetic lashes were traditionally offered, Lyons teamed up with Troi Ollivierre, a celebrity makeup artist who had extensive experience with falsies from his work on set for publications like Vogue and Vanity Fair. Together, they gathered a group of people with different backgrounds, ages, eye shapes and beauty aspirations to develop fun, realistic lashes for all.
So what makes LoveSeen lashes different? First, they’re made of nylon or synthetic PET, meaning that the brand is cruelty-free. The brand is also 98 percent plastic-free, with a goal to get that up to 100, and its packaging is recyclable. Then there’s the aesthetic of the lashes themselves. Rather than going for a level of impact suitable for 4K television or a stage performance, LoveSeen is playing in an IRL space, offering lashes that lend a flattering pop without overpowering. They’re easily worn in everyday situations like brunch out with friends or meetings.
